Stow organises files on your Mac. This policy explains exactly what leaves your computer, what we keep, and for how long. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
To produce a plan, Stow sends the following for the folder you selected:
Stow never uploads your files. The file itself never leaves your Mac, and nothing at all is sent for a folder you have not chosen.
Producing a plan requires third-party cloud infrastructure and language-processing providers acting as our processors under contract. They are permitted to process the data only to return your plan, and are contractually barred from retaining it or using it for their own purposes. Payment is handled by a third-party payment processor under its own privacy terms.
You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated data. Email privacy@stowmac.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK, EU or EEA you have these rights under the UK GDPR and GDPR respectively; if you are in California, under the CCPA.
The record Stow keeps so it can undo a plan, which file moved where, is written only
to your own Mac. It is never transmitted. It lives in a hidden .stow-history.json
file inside each folder you organise, so uninstalling Stow does not remove it: delete
that file from a folder if you no longer want the record of what moved there.
Stow is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
If this policy changes materially we will tell you by email before the change takes effect.
Stow is made and operated by Aeroswipe LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, which is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Questions, or to exercise any of the rights in section 6: privacy@stowmac.com.
