Overview:
The
benefits of karate study far transcend learning to punch, block & kick.
The skills of focus, concentration and self-discipline developed in
learning karate techniques will improve school, sports and work
performance for all the student's life. The improvements in
self-confidence and self-image will help resist negative peer pressure
to get involved in illicit activities and provide self-assurance to meet
the challenges of the adult world. The traits of helpfulness,
consideration and modesty developed in karate training will foster a
welcome high level of civility. Skills learned in meditation and
stilling the body for karate will provide counter point to the go-go
world of pop music, MTV, movies, video games and television.
Age Split:
Why ages 8 to 12? We use age appropriate instruction at the
Stow martial Arts Center and have found that certain age groups work
best together. Ages 4 to 6, ages 6 to 8, and ages 8 to 12 comprise our
three child groups. Classes are separated into age groups with similar
mental and physical developmental levels. There is an overlap between
each age group to accomodate maturity levels and size differences.
Students attend two 45 minute classes per week
Junior students can attain their Junior

home, and hard work .
